A mixed weather picture seems set to cover the county today, with a widespread frost and early showers dying out to be replaced by drier conditions later on.

It will start drier toward the west, with some sunny spells, while snow showers in the east will turn increasingly to rain or sleet, and mostly die out by early afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high of 4C.

A dry night across the region, with some long clear spells and light winds, will lead to a widespread hard frost by morning and temperatures falling to -4C.

Thursday starts dry and frosty, with some sunny spells but cloud increasing during the day. Some patchy rain will spread east in the afternoon and temperatures could make it up to 7C.

Friday looks breezy with a few showers. Saturday starts dry and frosty, but strong winds and rain will spread east later. Sunday brings a breeze and some showers.
