Thick fog across the East of England overnight could cause travel disruption during the weekend, weather forecasters have warned.
Norwich-based Weatherquest forecaster Dan Holley Tweeted on Friday night to say that in East Anglia: “There could be some fairly dense fog patches both tonight and Saturday night, which may not properly clear (or lift into low cloud) until late morning/lunchtime on Saturday and Sunday in a few places.
“Some travel disruption is possible.”
It followed the first air frost of October on Thursday night into Friday, with Santon Downham near Thetford recording a temperature of 0C.
Weatherquest Tweeted: “Mostly clear skies in the evening will lead to a chilly night with mist and fog patches forming, becoming thick around dawn.
“Light and variable winds. Min 3C but locally down to 0C in frost prone spots.”
Weatherquest also said that mist and fog is likely to become widespread over the rest of England in the early hours.
