Superstore evacuated after leak

SHOPPERS were evacuated from a supermarket following a refrigeration leak.

Firefighters from headquarters in Colchester Road and Princes Street in Ipswich were called to the town’s Sainsbury’s store in Warren Heath shortly after 12pm today.

They were originally responding to a smell of smoke but when they arrived there appeared to be a possible unknown leak in the plant room.

Further investigation discovered it was a refrigeration leak and no further action was taken by the fire service.

Shoppers were allowed back in the store around 3.20pm.
