It was largely business as normal for a Suffolk holiday company on Saturday despite a suspicious fire at its offices in Woodbridge
Two fire engines were called to the blaze at Suffolk Secrets in Tide Mill Way on Friday evening.
The two-storey building was “heavily smoke logged” and there was a fire in the ground floor, a fire brigade spokesman said.
It took firefighters from Woodbridge and Ipswich about an hour to put out the blaze and ensure everything was under control.
The Woodbridge office of Suffolk Secrets was closed while staff assessed the damage and started clearing up the mess, but the company was continuing to operate from its offices in Aldeburgh and Southwold.
Company general manager George Bradley said: “We’re saddened that our beautiful Woodbridge office has been damaged by fire.
“The fire brigade and police have been investigating the scene. We would like to thank them for their efforts. I would like to assure our customers that it’s business as usual for Suffolk Secrets. Our local teams will be operating from our Southwold and Aldeburgh offices while we assess the damage in Woodbridge.”
A police spokesman said the rear doors of the property had been “smashed in” before the fire broke out.
A fire brigade spokesman said the fire is believed to be deliberate.
Police are investigating. If you think you can help, call police on 101.
