A team of six staff members at a Bury St Edmunds tax firm completed the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for a charity which supports young people with disabilities or cancer.
The team from audit, tax and consulting company RSM, based at Hollow Road in the town, expect to raise more than £6,500 for GeeWizz after tackling the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in little over 24 hours.
The team overcame ill health, vehicle problems and difficult weather conditions to climb Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scarfell Pike over the August bank holiday weekend.
Justin Smith, manager at RSM, said: “The Three Peaks was certainly a challenge and we all felt a little sore after it was completed.
“But we also all shared a great sense of achievement and we are delighted to have raised so much money for GeeWizz.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported us including RSM, who are match-funding a percentage of the total sum raised.”
The team was made up of Justin Smith, Josh Goodall, Charley Bartlett, Lee Peverett, Rory Taylor and James Watson with George Allen acting as the driver throughout the challenge.
RSM has already supported GeeWizz through charitable netball and rounders tournaments and charity founder, Gina Long MBE, said: “We are once again indebted to the team at RSM for their fantastic fundraising in support of our work.”
