Teen charged after break-in at home in west Suffolk saw purse containing cash stolen

A teenager has been charged in connection with a burglary in west Suffolk, in which a door window was smashed and a purse taken.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the break-in at a home in Haverhill.
The break-in is alleged to have taken place in the early hours on Sunday, May 6, at a property in Old Rope Walk in the town.
“At some point, a door window was smashed and a purse containing cards and an amount of cash was stolen,” said a police spokesman.
The boy was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning after his arrest.
He was subsequently charged with burglary and theft and remanded in custody.
The boy is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday May 17.
