A teenager has been given a community order after sweets, ice creams, toys and laser guns were stolen during a spate of break-ins at a Suffolk theme park.

Darren Royall was sentenced after previously pleading guilty at North East Magistrates’ Court to three burglaries at Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft.

The 18-year-old committed the break-ins, with others who did not appear in court, during last October.

On October 26 the theme park’s Emporium gift shop was targeted and wrapping was ripped open from gifts and toys. Porkies Pantry was also broken into, along with Laser Lab.

Gifts, food, drinks, and three laser guns were stolen in total.

Between October 9 and October 10 Royall and others burgled the park going into the Candy Cabin refreshment kiosk and the go-kart storage shed.

They forced the wooden door of the go-kart warehouse open and took two karts which were found abandoned in the park.

The Candy Cabin’s window was smashed and sweets were stolen, while Porkies Pantry had drinks taken.

The first break-in occurred between October 2 and October 5 when Royall and accomplices stole ice creams from Parrot Ices refreshment kiosk in Pleasurewood Hills.

Royall, of no fixed about was given a 12-month community order during which he must carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work.

In addition Royall must pay £500 compensation.
