Emergency services were called on Saturday shortly before midnight to reports of a fight involving a group of boys near the junction of Cox Hill and Brook Hall Road.

A 15-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury during the fight, and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by ambulance.

He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers arrested a teenage boy in connection with the incident shortly after, but was later released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A portion of Cox Hill remained cordoned off while police carried out an investigation yesterday morning, but re-opened later in the day.

Anyone who witnessed what happened or has information to help police should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
