A TEENAGE girl was attacked, bundled into a car, driven away and then sexually assaulted, police said today.

The attack happened on Monday at around 8.15pm when the victim was walking along Rush Green Road in Clacton.

She was approached by a man who was on foot, assaulted and forced into a white car that was parked nearby.

The girl was then driven away to an unidentified location and subjected to a sexual assault.

The victim is currently helping police and is being supported by specially trained officers to obtain a comprehensive account of her ordeal.

She suffered minor injuries in the assault but did not require medical treatment.

The only description currently available of the man responsible is that he was white, in his 50s, with grey, receding hair.

Detective Superintendent John Quinton, who is leading the investigation, said: “This type of crime is extremely rare and I am hoping that the public will come forward with information that will help us solve it.

“I ask anyone who was in the area of Rush Green Road around 8.15pm on Monday evening or who was in Pump Hill around 11.30pm and may have seen the young woman, the man, or the car, to contact the police.

“The victim was very upset after being released and anyone who may have seen her would have noticed her distress.”

Police have carried forensic examinations of the Rush Green Road and Pump Hill areas.

Anyone who has any information about the attack is asked to call the Essex Police Major Investigation Team on 01206 762122, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
