A 13-YEAR-old has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a train narrowly avoided disaster when it smashed through a barricade of wood and concrete left on railway line.
The teenager, from Bury St Edmunds, was arrested on suspicion of causing an obstruction with intent in connection with the incident on June 17 on railway tracks close to the town's train station.
Police said at the time that it was “lucky” that the incident had not caused the service between Cambridge and Ipswich to derail and issued warnings about obstructing railways.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old from Bury is still being questioned after he was arrested on suspicion of obstruction in connection with a separate incident on July 2.
