A TEENAGER has suffered life-threatening injuries in an horrific crash near Colchester last night.
The 17-year-old from Colchester remains in a critical condition at Addenbrooks Hospital in Cambridge following the accident at 11.15 pm.
He was in a silver Peugeot 106 that left the road and crashed into a tree on Abberton Road between Colchester and West Mersea.
He was flown by air sea rescue helicopter with life-threatening injuries.
A 17-year-old-girl from West Mersea, who was also in the Peugeot, is in Colchester General Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A red MG Rover car, driven by an 18-year-old from West Mersea was slightly damage in the accident but the driver was uninjured.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Stanway road policing unit on 0300 333 4444.
