POLICE are searching for a teenager who has gone missing from a hospital.

Harini Payagola, 15, from Richmond, Surrey, ran off from Dukes Priory Hospital in Stump Lane, Chelmsford, at 11am on Saturday where she was being treated as a patient.

Police officers have searched the immediate area of the hospital using officers on foot and with dogs, and the police helicopter was deployed in an effort to locate her.

Chief Inspector Glenn Maleary of Chelmsford police said: “We are very concerned for the welfare of this girl. She has now been missing for 24 hours and is certainly not dressed for the current weather conditions. She may have taken refuge somewhere and I would ask people to check anywhere that she may be using for shelter.”

She is described as looking younger than her age and is described as being Asian, 4'10", slight build, with long dark hair.

Anyone who has any information that might help police find Harini is asked to contact police at Chelmsford on 0300 333 4444.
