It is the thoughtful little touches that make Sally Strutt realise just how lucky she is to have such a romantic partner.

Surprise holidays and a weekly delivery of flowers helped David Crissell, 30, win the heart of his beloved - and now they are vying for the title of the EADT’s most romantic couple in the hope of winning our Valentine’s competition.

We are offering our most loved-up pair a night in the luxurious Romantic suite at The Angel Hotel, Bury St Edmunds, with dinner and breakfast and we want to hear from anyone who thinks they could be a contender for the title.

Sally, 31, of Little Wenham, said: “Over our time together he has taken me out for numerous surprise meals, booked holidays and weekends away together and he brings me flowers home nearly every week.

“When I turned 30 he thoroughly spoilt me. The days leading up to my birthday were filled with gifts, cards and flowers.”

And there was even a perfect proposal for this romantic couple.

“We got engaged on December 6 last year and it was all a big surprise. We went to Belgium with our children and as we made our way to our hotel we took a detour through a beautiful park with a very pretty lake.

“He then asked me to stop so he could take a photo, but instead he got down on one knee! I obviously said ‘yes’ “

David is clearly no stranger to grand romantic gestures, but Sally knows romance runs deeper.

“It’s not the big things that count the most. To me, it’s the little things that are most romantic, the little cup of coffee that appears in front of me after a long day, the hug that is always waiting for me and those little moments that make me realise we will be together forever!

“He really is the most romantic man I’ve ever met or heard about.”

Faye Lloyd is expecting big things this Valentine’s Day as she marks the day with her kindred spirit.

She said: “My fiancé flew me to Venice to propose. We drank prosecco on a gondola.

“On previous Valentine’s he has flown me to Edinburgh to see the pandas and before that we stayed in a windmill where flowers were delivered.

“He brings me up a cup tea in bed every morning even though he doesn’t drink hot drinks and cooks every night.”

The romantic duo are due to wed this year.

We are also offering readers the chance to send their loved ones a free Valentine’s message this year. Submit your message here and we will publish them in print on February 14.
