A woman with 256 previous convictions is this week back behind bars after biting three members of staff at a Suffolk supermarket along with two others sentenced this week.
Chantelle Kerry
Chantelle Kerry,36, of Samuel Court, Ipswich, admitted three offences of shoplifting, three offences of assault causing actual bodily harm, and one offence of common assault. She also admitted being in breach of a conditional discharge before being jailed for 21 months,
Judge Martyn Levett said she had bitten the security guard at Tesco’s at Copdock, near Ipswich, on the hand for 15 seconds and had then bitten a female member of staff on the finger.
A customer assistant who went to the aid of the security guard was bitten on the breast for about 45 seconds by Kerry and described it as one of the most painful things that had ever happened to her.
The court heard that Kerry had been in an abusive relationship and had committed the offences to fund her drug habit. In court, her solicitor reassured the victims that she does not have AIDS.
Karl Taylor
When police raided a house in Beccles they found Karl Taylor asleep in the loft - with a large sum of cash and a bag of Class A drugs.
Taylor, 33, of Spencer Walk in Tilbury, was found guilty of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possession of a cannabis by a jury following a four day trail at Ipswich Crown Court.
Taylor was found asleep in the loft of a property in Mulberry Close by police officers investigating an attempted burglary at the Beccles amateur sailing club on April 23.
He was jailed for three and a half years.
Robert Bradlaugh
Repeat offendeder Robert Bradlaugh, who has notched up 185 previous convictions, told bus driver Andre Dixon-Pierre to “go back to where you are from” and “someone from here could have had your job”, Ipswich Crown Court was told.
The 63-year-old, of St George’s Street, Ipswich, denied racially aggravated assault by beating and was found not guilty by a jury.
But he was convicted of racially aggravated threatening words and behaviour, which he had also denied.
