The Good Food Guide 2018 was released on Monday, September 4, and it is only good news for one of our local pubs.
A local pub has been given the highest rating in east Suffolk from The Good Food Guide 2018.
The Unruly Pig, located on Orford Road, Bromeswell, is the only Top 50 UK Gastropub in the whole of East Anglia, and has been given a cooking score of four by an anonymous inspector.
Brendan Padfield, owner of The Unruly Pig, said: “We were lucky enough to be listed in The Good Food Guide within our first 12 weeks of trading. Unfortunately, a fire then intervened and closed us for six months. Nevertheless, we got back on our trotters and have now received an even better rating by The Good Food Guide 2018 - and we have the highest rating in east Suffolk.”
The Michelin recommended establishment was named the Best Pub in Suffolk in 2016/2017 by the Great British Pub Awards.

Brendan continued: “Looking at all the other wonderful pubs and restaurants listed in Suffolk, to say that I am so proud of what Dave Wall, our head chef, and our team at The Unruly Pig have achieved is the understatement of the year.”
The gastropub near Woodbridge opened in April 2015, but after a successful 12 weeks it was forced to close for six months due to a fire, reopening on December 5, 2015.
The Good Food Guide, from waitrose, helps diners find the very best restaurants and pubs around the country with reviews by anonymous inspectors.
