THOUSANDS of people in Clacton were unable to cook their turkey curry today after a power cut.
Electricity to 3,280 homes went out at just before 8am after a fault in a high voltage underground cable.
Power was restored to the majority of those defected by 9.30am but some households had to wait until nearly 2pm before they were reconnected.
An EDF Energy spokesman said: “We would like to apologise to these customers who were left without power and for any distress caused.”
