Woman suffers serious injuries in three-car collision in Barningham
A woman in her 70s suffered serious injuries during a crash involving three cars in Barningham near Bury St Edmunds.
A 500-metre stretch of the B1111 was closed to traffic as a result of the crash, which happened at about 9.50am yesterday, Sunday, July 29.
Police officers, firefighters and the ambulance service were called to the scene, where one of the vehicles was discovered on its side.
One of the drivers, a woman in her 70s, suffered a broken chest bone and broken leg.
A second driver sustained swelling to his right hand and wrists, while the third driver suferred leg and shoulder pain.
The crash involved three vehicles: a Ford Fiesta, and two VW Golf cars.
The road was reopened to traffic at 4.40pm.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to help with their investigation.
