THREE people have been arrested after massive haul of drugs was seized in Haverhill.

Police found tens of thousands of pounds worth of cocaine and heroin after they stopped a vehicle and searched a property in the town yesterday.

A VW car was stopped by officers on the A1307 at around 6.30pm and a 56-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

Both have been taken into custody at Bury St Edmunds police station where they will be interviewed by officers later today.

A 29-year-old man was also arrested for possession of class A drugs when he attended the house while police were present.

He is also in custody at Bury St Edmunds.

More drugs including what are thought to be bars of heroin and several thousand tablets believed to be LSD were seized from the house along with a quantity of cash.

The drugs have been sent for analysis to determine the exact value of the finds.
