Three injured in collision

THREE people have been taken to hospital after a collision blocked a Suffolk road.

Emergency services were called to the B1119 at Saxtead shortly after 5pm today after receiving reports that five people had been involved in a two vehicle crash.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said that the incident, which had involved a silver Vauxhall Zafira and a grey Toyota Prius had left one person trapped.

Two fire crews and two rescue tenders were called to the scene by the ambulance service, and assisted by removing the doors of a vehicle and assisting with the injured passengers.

No one is thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries, all three casualties were taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment.
