The accident - between a white panel van and a Toyota - happened in Burstall Lane, Sproughton, near Ipswich at around 6pm.
The fire service was called to the scene and had to release one casualty who had become trapped.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said three people suffered minor injuries and the road was blocked until 8pm while the vehicles were recovered.
