POLICE have arrested three young men in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a teenager at a north east Essex sports club.
POLICE have arrested three young men in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a teenager at a north east Essex sports club.
The 17-year-old boy was allegedly attacked by one man and three boys on Tuesday afternoon.
One 18-year-old, two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old were arrested following the incident.
It is understood the alleged victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, later gave a statement to officers investigating the attack.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "A 17-year-old north east Essex youth has alleged that he was sexually assaulted on the afternoon of Tuesday December 2 2008.
“Given the fact that this is a sexual assault no further information can be given.”
An 18-year-old has since been released without charge.
The remaining three teenagers have been released on police bail.
