Former classmates are trying to track down fellow Thurleston School alumni for a reunion.
The original students who were at the school when it opened back in 1958 will be meeting up at Greshams, in Tuddenham Road, Ipswich on Saturday, September 1 to reminisce about their school days.
John Turner, 73, was a student between 1958 and 1960 before joining the Merchant Navy and is one of 60 already signed up for the reunion.
He said: “I started my secondary education at Westbourne School and went to Thurleston as a third year.”
Organiser Jenny Hare said: “I am surprised by how many we have so far, but I do stay in touch with a lot of people via Facebook and they have helped spread the word.
“We are inviting anyone who was there in the first few years the school was open.”
Tickets to the event are £10. For more information or to buy a ticket call Mrs Hare on 01473 830503.
