Schoolchildren from Tiptree sang to welcome the Fijian rugby team to the UK ahead of the Rugby World Cup.
Thurstable School Choir was one of only 20 groups in the country chosen to perform at the official welcome ceremonies.
The pupils met the team at Hampton Court and sang The World in Union.
Sally Thomson, head of music, said: “The students really rose to the occasion and were not distracted, used a little Fijian when speaking to the team and were honoured by the Fiji team singing to them.”
Fiji play England at Twickenham in the opening match of the tournament on Friday evening.
