Labour crashed to fourth place behind the Liberal Democrats and the Greens.
The result was:
Anne Whybrow (Conservative) 733
Keith Scarff (Liberal Democrat) 668
Brenda “Twiggy” Davis (Green Party) 354
Duncan Macpherson (Labour) 337
Conservative majority: 65. Turnout: 29%
May 2005 result: Keith Myers-Hewitt (Con) 1,576; Ronald Snell (Lab) 1,446; Keith Scarff (LD) 1,036; Brenda “Twiggy” Davis (Green Party) 653. Conservative majority: 130. Con gain from Lab.
