Tories, Lib Dems swap by-election gains

SUFFOLK Liberal Democrats in Forest Heath and Essex Conservatives in Uttlesford swapped gains in two district council by-elections held on Thursday.Tory John Davey triumphed at Great Dunmow North in Uttlesford on a swing of more than 9%, but David Cameron's party suffered a major reverse in Forest Heath when the Lib Dems took a seat which had been uncontested last year.

SUFFOLK Liberal Democrats in Forest Heath and Essex Conservatives in Uttlesford swapped gains in two district council by-elections held on Thursday.

Tory John Davey triumphed at Great Dunmow North in Uttlesford on a swing of more than 9%, but David Cameron's party suffered a major reverse in Forest Heath when the Lib Dems took a seat which had been uncontested last year.
