AN Ipswich Town legend is backing his nephew to go all the way and win tonight'sBig Brother final.

Jason Dozzell, a former England under-21 international, has thrown his support behind Darnell Swallow, who is one of the favourites to win the Channel 4 show.

The public will decide tonightwhich of the five remaining housemates should win the reality TV programme, now in its ninth year.

But according to Mr Dozzell, who also played for Tottenham Hotspur and Colchester United, there is only one winner.

“I think Darnell has done fantastically well,” he said. “I was a bit worried before he went in as to how the other housemates would treat him but I think he has coped very well.

“I just think that he is honest and wears his heart on his sleeve and he is a very intelligent guy. He is well-meaning and the only true person in there and I think he deserves to win.”

The London resident - who was born in Ipswich - went to live in America when he was younger but was deported back to the UK after getting involved with gang culture in the US.

The Big Brother star is the son of Mr Dozzell's half-brother, Tony Swallow.

And the former midfielder said he has done himself and the family proud.

“Everybody in the family thinks that he has done very well and we are all very proud of him,” he said. “Hopefully when he comes out it will have taught him a few things about himself and his life and he will strive to happiness.”
