A road in Suffolk was closed for four hours last night and into the early hours of this morning after a vehicle crashed into a ditch.

The single-vehicle collision happened on the B1115 between Little and Great Waldingfield around 11.10pm yesterday.

No-one was seriously injured, however the vehicle knocked over a telegraph pole during the crash and around 15 metres of line also came down and into the road.

The road was closed and a diversion was put in place while engineers from BT repaired the damage.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said this caused traffic problems, especially for lorries, as the B1115 is the main road between Stowmarket and Sudbury but no vehicles could get through.

The road reopened just before 3.10am.
