Parts of the eastbound carriageway of the A14 outside Ipswich have reopened after all lanes were closed as smoke from a field fire blew across the road.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the fire close to the Wherstead turn-off on the A14 at about 1.55pm on Friday.

Initially officers closed all lanes on the eastbound carriageway due to the "amount of smoke that is blowing across the carriageway," a spokesman for Suffolk police said.
