Early morning commuters faced delays today due to a broken down freight train.

Services between Ipswich and Lowestoft via Saxmundham and Beccles were affected.

An engineering train broke down at Darsham first thing this morning and caused disruption until around 10.30am.

The 5.25am Lowestoft to Harwich International service was the first train affected by this problem and it terminated at Ipswich.

The 6.41am Lowestoft to Ipswich and the 7.35am Ipswich to Lowestoft trains were cancelled.
