Police are appealing for information after two people were robbed at knife point on a train.

The robbery happened on a train waiting at Lowestoft Railway Station at about 8pm yesterday. A man walked onto the train waiting in the station, spoke to a 20-year-old man and 21-year-old woman on the train and then pulled out a knife. He threatened them into handing over their wallets and he then got off the train.

Both wallets were later found in the Hervey Street area of Lowestoft.

The offender was white, of medium build, with tattoos on both arms and was wearing a black T-shirt and jeans.

He appeared to be with a woman, described as being of large build with short ginger/reddish coloured hair, she was wearing a black top and may also have had tattoos.

British Transport Police are investigating this offence and are working closely with Lowestoft CID following two other similar robberies in the town earlier this week.

Anyone with any information should call British Transport Police on 0207 3801400.
