COMMUTERS returning to Suffolk faced disruption on the trains today after a signalling fault between Colchester and Manningtree.

A number of National Express East Anglia services travelling north were terminated at Colchester to prevent a backlog of trains through the affected area.

Passengers experienced delays of around 10 minutes after being asked to board other trains which continued through to Manningtree at a slow speed.

The fault, which occurred early this afternoon, was fixed by National Rail engineers by around 6.30pm.
