Rail journeys were delayed by up to half an hour this afternoon and into the evening.
Train services between Ipswich and Felixstowe faced disrupted due to safety checks being made in the Trimley area, leading to delays of up to 15 minutes.
Services between Ipswich and Liverpool Street were earlier affected by disruption which led to half-hour delays lasting until around 6pm.
Delays of around 20 minutes then continued into the evening.
National Express East Anglia said the cause of the delays was a broken down freight train at Ingatestone.
