ONE lane of the A14 has now re-opened following a two-vehicle crash earlier this afternoon.

The collision between a white Ford transit and white DAF truck happened at 4.30pm on the eastbound A14 between Needham Market and Claydon, junctions 51 and 52.

Firefighters, police and paramedics all attended the scene and a man in his 20s, who was driving the van, was taken to Ipswich Hospital with suspected facial injuries.

Police closed one lane of the busy dual carriageway to allow for recovery of the van, which is currently about 9ft down an embankment.

The road was fully re-opened at 6.22pm.
