Two cars were damaged and a man injured after a collision with a cow in the early hours of this morning.
A silver Vauxhall Astra collided with the animal on the southbound A12 near Hatfield Peverel at around 3.30am.
The car was badly damaged while a VW van was damaged by debris.
No one in the Astra was injured but the man driving the van suffered minor injuries to his face and hand.
The cow died in the collision.
The Highways Agency was alerted to the incident in order to arrange recovery of the animal’s body.
