Trains services between Ipswich and Lowestoft via Saxmundham have been suspended until the end of today with further disruptions likely throughout the weekend, due to flood damage.
Greater Anglia has been assessing the extent of the damage and apologised for the inconvenience.
“We made every effort overnight to fully restore train services as quickly as possible but some delays and disruption to services have continued during this morning,” a spokesman said.
“We are grateful to our customers for your patience and continued understanding while our colleagues and engineers have been working to resolve these problems.
“We recognise the frustration and inconvenience to your journeys caused by the storms and flooding, and regular service updates will continue via the Greater Anglia website and social media.”
First Norfolk Buses will also pass valid Greater Anglia ticket holders, on bus routes X1 and X2, which serve routes Norwich to Great Yarmouth/Lowestoft.
First Suffolk Buses are accepting valid tickets between Ipswich, Woodbridge and Saxmundham (Routes 64/65) and from Ipswich station to the town centre (route 66) to connect. Also between Ipswich and Felixstowe (routes 75/76/77)
