Fraud case against Glemsford man to start next year

The trial of a Suffolk man accused of a £9,000 fraud is due to take place next year.

Before Ipswich Crown Court today for a plea and trial preparation hearing was David Barnard, 47, of Lees Court, Glemsford.

He pleaded not guilty to eight offences of fraud involving making false representations to obtain goods and services worth more than £9,000.

The charges involve him making false representations to companies including MBNA Ltd, Newday Ltd,Telefonica UK Ltd, Very Ltd, Littlewoods, Capital One and Vanquis Credit.

The alleged offences took place between September 2016 and August 2018.

Barnard’s two day trial is expected to take place during a two week warned list commencing February 11 next year.
