FIREFIGHTERS were called out to three separate fires in the Trimley villages overnight.

At around 12.05am, officers spotted a fire at the side of High Road and discovered the remains of a wheelie bin that had been set alight. A second bin was also damaged in the blaze.

Police and fire crews were then alerted to another bin fire in a car park at the back of flats at St Martins Green.

The bins had been set alight between around midnight and 12.25am but the fire then spread to a blue BMW, and caused damage to a rear fence and a lean-to garage.

The fire service also reported attended an earlier bin fire, just before midnight, at premises in High Road.

An investigation is underway to trace those responsible and police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area around this time or anyone who may have information about who started the fires.
