Monster trucks, superheroes and life-size film characters delighted guests as the first ever Truckfest East rolled into Ipswich this weekend.
The popular show, which has been taking place for more than 30 years at locations up and down the country, started in Newark and has since spread to a host of showgrounds across the UK.
It brings together truck and vehicle enthusiasts for a weekend of family fun.
This weekend’s Truckfest East was the first to take place in Trinity Park, and organisers say they are already looking to return to the site for a second time next year.
“It was our first year at Trinity Park and the whole team looked forward to bringing the Truckfest success east to Ipswich,” said Truckfest’s event director Bob Limming.
“We had a great weekend, but Truckfest wouldn’t be Truckfest without the enthusiasm of the operators and drivers who attend each of the events and show us the very best of the industry which they are justifiably proud of.
“We are certainly looking forward to bringing Truckfest on an annual basis to Trinity Park and we hope you all enjoyed your visit to Truckfest and that you will return again in 2019.”
Vehicle displays commanded the most attention as one of the show’s biggest attractions.
More than 500 trucks were on display to visitors, featuring everything from everyday road trucks to highly customised American vehicles.
A range of vintage trucks were also on display at the event.
Exhibitors also pitched their vehicles against each other in a number of competitive classes, as they vied for titles such as Best Kept Working Truck, Best Heritage Truck and Best in Show.
For the youngsters, there were appearances by superhero and film characters – with a full size replica of Lightning McQueen from the film Cars also on display during the weekend.
The event also featured an entertainment arena with performances coming from stunt drivers and monster truck car crusher Slingshot across the weekend.
Commentating in the main arena was Todd Dewey, star of the Ice Road Truckers TV show, which follows those who drive in some of the most difficult conditions on the planet in the US and Canada.
