The accident happened on Woodbridge Road East near to the Shell filling station between two roundabouts at around 8.30pm.
One man received treatment for back pain after a silver Volkswagon Golf and a silver Vauxhall Zafira collided, denting the central reservation barrier.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said the man did not require hospital treatment.
