POLICE in north Suffolk are appealing for information after two burglaries in Lowestoft.

Someone broke into a house in Sharon Drive shortly before 3pm on Tuesdayand stole wrapped Christmas presents.

The offender was confronted by a neighbour as he attempted to leave the property and discarded the presents he had stolen.

He is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of slim build, with mousy coloured stubble and was wearing a light brown three-quarter length coat, black trousers and a dark coloured woolly hat.

At about 3.30pm the same day a woman returned to her home in Northgate, Lowestoft, to find a man in her home and Christmas presents loaded into a holdall.

The 50-year-old woman tried to stop the man leaving but he managed to get away taking a digital camera and gold jewellery with him.

He is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, of slim build and wearing a light coloured hooded top, possibly with a darker shade on the arms, and a black beeny hat under the hood.

It is believed he made his escape in the direction of Normanston Drive.
