Two men in their 30s have been arrested after drugs and a bladed weapon were found in a vehicle in Bury St Edmunds.

A vehicle was stopped this morning in Bury St Edmunds which police believe is linked to drug dealing.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, taking a vehicle without consent (TWOC), intention to supply a class A drug and possession of a bladed weapon.

The other suspect was a 35-year-old man who was arrested on the suspicion of drug driving, taking a vehicle without consent (TWOC) and theft.

A tweet from St Edmundsbury Police said: “A vehicle was stopped in Bury St Edmunds which is believed to be linked to drug dealing. The two occupants were searched. Drugs, cash, weapons and the vehicle have been seized. Both arrested and in Custody #OPVELOCITY.”
