TWO men are due to appear in court today facing a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent following a stabbing in Essex.Glenn Freeman, 18, a factory worker, from Maldon, and James Purdy, 21, a demolition worker from Heybridge, have been detained in police custody until their appearance in Chelmsford Magistrates' Court today.

TWO men are due to appear in court today facing a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent following a stabbing in Essex.

Glenn Freeman, 18, a factory worker, from Maldon, and James Purdy, 21, a demolition worker from Heybridge, have been detained in police custody until their appearance in Chelmsford Magistrates' Court today.

The injured 18-year-old is still in hospital suffering from a punctured lung after he was stabbed in Temple Way, Heybridge, at around 12.30am on Sunday, May 25.

Four other people- a 22-year-old Maldon man, a 21-year-old man from Maldon, a 19-year-old woman from Maldon and a 17-year-old boy from Heybridge were arrested in connection with the stabbing and have been released on police bail until later this year pending further enquiries.
