Two men throw liquid in woman’s face in Bury St Edmunds pub during ‘random’ attack

A woman in her 30s was rushed to hospital after two men dressed in black hoodies threw a mystery liquid into her face during a “random” attack.

The incident happened in The Glad Abbot pub in Glastonbury Road, Bury St Edmunds at around 11.10pm on Friday.

The victim was taken to hospital as a precaution and had the liquid cleaned out of her eyes, a spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said.

The woman did not suffer serious injuries and the police spokeswoman said the unknown liquid did not burn her.

Police inquiries are ongoing and no-one has been arrested at this stage.

The police spokeswoman said it was thought have to been a random attack.

Any witnesses are urged to call police 101.
