Two people suffered the effects of cold after their dinghy capsized in water off Wrabness, near Harwich.
Harwich lifeboat was alerted at 4pm on Monday to reports of a capsized dinghy at Wrabness.
Reports suggested one person was in the water, while a second had managed to haul themselves back onto the boat.
The inshore lifeboat arrived to find two people suffering effects of the cold. Both were taken on board the lifeboat.
A second crew was back at the lifeboat station to deliver ongoing care to the casualties, one of whom was taken to hospital.
