COASTGUARDS have rescued two people from their yacht which ran aground at Colne Point, near Clacton.

Following a radio call from the Quintine at just before 6pm yesterday the Clacton coastguard team and lifeboat went to the aid of the 34ft Cutter.

The yacht had been travelling from Felixstowe Ferry to Brightlingsea and the crew were wet and cold, but unhurt.

The two people on board were taken to Clacton lifeboat station and later reunited with their vessel.
