Two people have been taken to hospital after a car flipped over in a ‘serious collision’ close to Center Parcs in Elveden.

Police were called to the scene of the single vehicle crash, on the B1106, at around 4.45am today, Saturday, June 16.

According to a police spokeswoman, a BMW had come off the road and rolled over, but the vehicle was empty when it was found by officers.

A two-hour search of the area was conducted, including help from a drone, and a driver and passenger were later found.

They were both rushed to hospital.

Police say neither of the vehicle’s occupants have been seriously injured as a result of the collision.

On Twitter the Mildenhall Police said: “Thanks for the help @modpolice and @SuffolkFire with their #drone for their help in finding two injured occupants of this upside down car! Luckily nobody appears seriously injured. B1106 will reopen ASAP.”

A police spokeswoman said: “The vehicle had flipped a couple of times and both air bags had deployed.

“The road has been closed while an investigation takes place.”

The road was closed to traffic between Green Road and Center Parcs while officers worked at the scene.

Police confirmed the road had fully reo[pened at around 11.20am.
