UK’s fattest woman dies

AN Essex mum who weighed 45 stone and was believed to be the country’s fattest woman has died in hospital.

Sharon Mevsimler died of a heart attack after two months as a patient in Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.

The 40-year-old, from Chelmsford, had been unable to get out of bed for four years and needed an oxygen tank to breath as her weight put so much strain on her lungs.

Mrs Mevsimler was a normal size when she married in her twenties but blamed her weight gain on comfort eating when she suffered from post natal depression.
