Sara Corcoran, director of human resources, was invited to join the trustee board at the Association of University Administrators – the top higher education body which guides and supports managers and administrators in the industry.

Ms Corcoran will serve on the board until 2020.

She said: “I’m really thrilled to have been invited to join and excited about getting involved with the AUA at a national level.

“I think it’s really important that the sector’s professional services staff do have a voice, are recognised for the contribution they make to the sector and are supported in their continued professional development.”

The association said Ms Corcoran’s experience will help broaden the representation of university staff.
