Update: A14 re-opens after multi-vehicle crash closes road close to Orwell Bridge

TWO weeks after chaos hit the A14 when a lorry shed its load of onions motorists faced misery AGAIN today after a multi-vehicle crash on the SAME stretch of road.

Today’s incident happened just before the Orwell Bridge at about 9.05am today when a trailer being towed by a vehicle came loose.

A number of vehicles then crashed into the trailer – police have said there were either four or five vehicles involved.

Paramedics, police and the fire service are all currently on the scene and the carriageway has been closed to allow for recovery work.

Police are not currently aware of the extent of any injuries.

A Suffolk police spokeswoman said the road re-opened at 10.45am.

On October 3 the same stretch of the A14 was closed after a lorry overturned spilling thousands of onions across the carriageway.
