One of the vehicles involved in a two-car road crash in Felixstowe Road, Ipswich this morning was an ambulance service rapid response vehicle.

The incident happened around 10.40am at the junction with Alan Road between a yellow Peugeot 307 and a white Ford rapid response vehicle.

Some railings were also damaged in the collision.

A spokeswoman from the East of England Ambulance service, said: “The driver of the other vehicle and our paramedic were both assessed at the scene but didn’t require any medical treatment.

“The Trust vehicle was responding to an incident on blue lights at the time but another resource was dispatched to the original call. That patient has now also been assessed by a paramedic and safely left at home.”
